Did you "drop" the 2nd time?

I swear I feel like I dropped this morning, but I was told it wouldn't happen 2nd time around. Did you?

DS2 was always really low, I'd say it's possible you've dropped.

I've definitely dropped. Baby girl was all up in my ribs but she is very low now. I hadn't heard that you don't drop the 2nd time.

Yep. I'd always heard that you drop right before you go into labor with the 2nd but DD2 dropped around 33-34 weeks. I had an u/s to check my cervix length and her position at 32 weeks after I had a lot of pressure and cramping and she was still up there and I was still 0% effaced.

2 weeks later at 34 weeks she was engaged at -2 station and I was 50% effaced. She dropped down to 0 station around 36-37 weeks. I delivered her on my induction date at 39w2d.

I also heard that with a 2nd child, you don't drop until the last minute. So I thought it was odd when I noticed my belly dropping at 36w6d. Then my water broke a few hours later and DD was born at exactly 37w. It came as a total surprise as he rbig sister was born only a couple of days before my due date.

I definitely dropped with DD.  Even my OB noticed and made a comment.  It was at around 34 weeks.

ETA: I went into PTL that week too so I think it's true that you drop closer to labor with #2.  Also, labor and delivery are much faster the second time around.
