Random blister looking thing under lip on 14 m/o?

DS will be 14 m/o this week and last night while he was eating dinner we noticed a random little spot which I thought was a scab under his lip but at closer look it appears to look like a blister.  It is totally random - nothing like this anywhere else on his body, he is acting fine (besides just getting over a pretty yucky diaper rash).  He has been teething something fierce this last week and drool has literally been pouring like a faucet, so I am wondering if it's maybe just happened from an irritation from all that.  He kind of bites his lip a little weird sometimes too where he kind of bites right there under his lip so I am thinking it could be that also.  He also still uses a paci at bedtime/naptime so I guess moisture could have also gotten trapped there at night or something??? Any ideas?? Anyone else had anything like this happen?  I'm kind of freaked out but there does seem to be a couple different reasons for it I guess.

  • does he use a straw cup? ds gets one from his cup when he sucks too hard...

No, he can drink out of a straw but his regular sippies aren't straw cups.

  • Liam gets those occasionally in the corners of his mouth.  They usually pop up when he is teething or when he is sick so I just attribute it to irritation from drool and mouth breathing.
