Cloth Diapering

Which Type of Tide Detergent?

I'm sure the answer is here somewhere but I'm too lazy to go searching for it - I know several people have mentioned using Tide on their diapers - what particular kind?  Do you use it for the rest of your baby laundry too?

Re: Which Type of Tide Detergent?

  • I'm pretty sure it's the Original Tide powder.

  • We use Tide Free or whatever it is called. It is the one in the white bottle. Oh and we use liquid. It seems to work fine. We have been CD for 3 months and have never had any issues.

ETA: And yes we use it for the rest of our baby laundry.

  • Original Tide powder is supposed to be the magic stuff but Tide doesn't make it anymore.  Tide Ultra powder in original scent is the closest thing they make to the old stuff.  I've been using it for a few weeks now with good results.

On DS's clothing, I've been using All Free & Clear since that's what I had been using for the rest of our laundry.  Once that's gone, I'll probably switch over to Tide for everything assuming everyone's skin tolerates it okay.

This. We now use Tide Ultra for everything. So far so good!

  • I honestly don't think it matters as long as it is not the formula with the added fabric softener. I use Tide Free powder (the old stuff not Ultra) but have had the exact same results with Tide Original and Clean Breeze Scent. I know plenty of people that use liquid as well with good results.
