I gave him a job to look at the SSA top 1000 names and to pick the ones he likes since I have no idea about his naming style.  I think I'm a more classic names kid of girl . . . Tell me it's not as bad as I think . . . . or that it is haha.

It's not terrible. I like Alyssa, Carmen, and Holly from girls, and Gavin (LOVE), Trevor, and Xavier from the boy list.

Boys I like from the list: Eli, Gavin, Levi, Xavier

The boy's list isn't that bad. The girl's list seems to be trendier names.

Its not too bad! At least he is coming up with names unlike my husband!

As a list, I don't think it's awful- there are a few on each list I could live with. Yeah, there are a few doozies on there for me- Gauge, really?- but overall not bad. 

My faves: Girls- Alyssa, Carmen, Holly, Sadie, Serena. Boys-  Charlie, Dean, Gavin, Jared, Lucas, Taylor.

Only names I would consider in there are June, Levi, and Jared.  Some of the names would be better if spelled correctly.  It isn't as bad as it could be.  Did you give him your list?  That's what DH and I did and than crossed out names that were off the table.

like: autumn, sierra, sidney (prefer sydney), holly, hailee (terrible spelling though, i'd go with haley personally)

Of his list, I like Amy, June, and Summer for the girls and Charles (Charlie) for the boys.

He seems to like trendy boy names and trendy and 80s girl names.  I'm really surprised that he likes Landyn, spelled that way.

There are some good names in that list that are not trendy and are quite nice and not too common. There are a lot of trendy names on the list, yes, but there are enough that are not. I'd imagine you could agree on some of them? No?

Personally, I think there is alot to work with in his choices.  You will just have to find something between very class traditional and trendy.
