Silly indeed. One singer's name I could see. Two is a stretch. Lennon for a girl is a stretch. Kobain with a K is awful. So, the sum of all these elements= terrible.

I actually kind of dig Lennon as a guilty pleasure name for a boy. One that I'd never use but it's kind of cool when it's not part of a theme.

There's no excuse for Kobain though.

Well, actually he shot himself in the head with a shotgun.  Wait, that's not any better.  Lennon is less bad but still gets my eyes rolling.  Kids aren't themed sets people! 

Get out! All this time I've thought it was an overdose. Learn something new everyday...and agreed, suicide is not much better.

This. If you love a musician, use a name associated with a song you really love - not with that person. You should only name someone after a very strong person you have a personal connection with, IMO. Using a song as inspiration is different. My favorite artist said this about tattoos - he gets it when fans use song lyrics, they really mean something to them, but when the tattoo his name or something on their skin, he doesn't get it - what if he does something they disagree with? They don't know him, why use his name? So on and so forth.

I agree with him and stretch it to naming a child after a musician.
