Does hommus have nuts?

This is probably a stupid question, but is the Tahini (sesame seeds) considered nuts?

Hummus itself does not contain nuts...it is made from chickpeas/garbanzo beans. I'm not sure if sesame seeds are considered nuts or not, though.

Sesame seeds are not considered nuts, but they do tend to be allergenic.  Are you thinking about giving it to your DC?  I would hesitate to give it to mine just because I know it can cause allergic reactions.

wow, thanks for asking this. i have been wanting to give my boys hummus for a while, but i just keep forgetting. now i'm glad i did! i forgot about the sesame seeds. duh! and my husband has some sensitivies to seeds, so i really need to watch things like that with the boys.
