Trying to Get Pregnant

Animals and Temping

So this last cycle was my first type temping, and until DH started his new job it was going pretty good. But between him getting up at 3AM, and our dog needing to go out at night, I'm having a heck of a time getting that 3 hour block of sleep. Also about 2 hours after DH has gotten up in the morning, our cat gets impatient and starts crying for his breakfast.

As much as I love my fur babies:

They drive me bonkers sometimes. <3 Anyone else have pets that throw off their temp schedule?

Re: Animals and Temping

  • I was just thinking about the same thing this morning.  My husband works nights and gets home about 2am, goes to bed about 3am, and on the nights he gets in at that time the dog always seems to need to go out between 3-4pm.  Combine that with my small bladder and getting up at least once a night and having to get up at 6am .....it makes for a messy chart!

  • I have the same problem. DH has different shifts everyday sometime he is home around midnight and others he is up at 4 am. The dogs refuse to allow me to sleep :-(.

  • My chart is very lacking this month due to my cat going crazy. He has been doing one of two things...

He either locks himself in our bathroom or closet or locks himself in our room and ends up scratching up the carpet or meowing to wake me up.

    Or

He wakes me up 2 and a half hours before he is supposed to get breakfast by walking on my pillow, because he wants to eat then and there.

I would suggest having your H feed him when he leaves for work so he isn't bothering you to get fed after he leaves.

I think my dog has it timed so that I just miss 3 hours. Because I was going to start temping at 3AM this cycle, but I realized that she usually wakes me up around 12:30-1AM to go out. Then again around 5:45 ish. And when DH gets up at 3, it takes me about an hour to fall back asleep. -_-

  • Lately my puppy has decided that she needs to use the bathroom at 4 in the morning every night. It's been driving me nuts. I've had to start temping at 3.

Ugh, that stinks! I missed temping this morning and have been up since 4 am because our little dog decided she couldn't sleep and was getting into toys and running around. Without thinking, I just got up and took her on a walk. No temping. No going back to sleep. And I am in a wedding today :-(.

  • Our two dogs and a kitty used to sleep in the bed with us but they were messing up my schedule so much that I now we put them all in the laundry room - the dogs in their kennel and then the kitty just hangs out in there too.  We close the door and put the fan on too so that there is some white noise to help keep them quiet.  It has definitely helped my sleep, although I definitely miss having them with us.  But, sleep is better.
