Due in July??

so, i was like totally at babiesrus today and talking to someone and made a comment that i was pregnant with twins and started getting some of those questions you guys always talk about... i couldnt believe theyd start this early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean, really....

but anyways, so i told her that i was having twins and was 11 weeks along and she said, so youre due in july, right? i said, no, my due dates in august. she then asked, yeah, but since its twins that means youre due early, like in july??

what is the real answer?? i mean, i know i'll deliver early, right? so does that mean that i'm due in july???

My 40-week due date was August 8, but my doctor told me from day 1 that he wouldn't let me go past 38 weeks.

I just always told people that I was due at the beginning of August but that I would have them mid- to late-July.

I've gotten so sick of the questions I just respond with this spring...if they ask more then maybe ill tell them but sometimes thats enough.

My doctor told me tell most people my 40 week due date (for all informational purposes, paperwork, etc...), but that I should tell all my friends and family my 38 week due date.

I used to say it up front. "I'm due Jan. 21st, but the latest they'll let me go with twins is Jan. 7th." That way, you cover it in one quick sentence!

My girls are 13 months, and I'm still surprised at all the questions and attention! I do dress my girls exactly alike, from head to toe, so I realize that creates a bit of a stir, but really...I would've never thought twins would get this much attention. It's crazy because it's not that rare! You won't be able to go anywhere without at least 4 to 5 people stopping you. It's nice though. People are just curious (as I was before having twins...although I don't think I've ever stopped someone in the store), and they are always complimentary, so I just try to enjoy the attention! Even when I'm in a hurry...who doesn't like to talk about their kids, right???

Congrats on the babies! Enjoy your shopping while you can still do it in peace! LOL!

Mine's becoming a script. "I'm due at the end of June, but expect them late may or early June.". I do this because It's usually co-workers that ask, and I want to be realistic about when I'll be leaving work.

I was due August 4th, but had them July 10th (36 weeks). I always told people I was due in the beginning of August but expected them to arrive around mid July.

I am due July 23, so i say late July/ early June.

Its actually annoying when the DOCTORS keep reminding me that that is my due date. Ok, maybe i will only get the nursery ready July 1 then maybe!!!! CMON people- lets get real here!

Since i change the date, i usually don't say how far along i am.

I tell people my real due date but mention I am obviously likely to give birth earlier. I don't feel comfortable with a made-up due date because I feel like the EDD is used just as much for dating purposes (i.e. how far along you are) as it is to estimate when the bab(ies) will actually arrive. I feel like if I tell people I am due 2-3 weeks earlier, I would also be telling them that I am 2-3 weeks further along in my pregnancy than I actually am.

Looks like there's a few of us do at the end of July. I'm due 7/21. I tell people I'm due at the end of July, but will probably have them around Independence Day.
