What do you think of Olivia? I just ran across it and I really like it. Thoughts? Oh and what do you think of Lyle for a boy? It was my grandfathers name.
Love Olivia but it's in the top 10 most popular names so would never use it. It's sad because it's one of my favorites along with Ava but can't use that one now either. Boo.
Love Lyle!

Love Olivia but it is a top 10 name. It all depends on your feelings about this. My 8 yr old daughter is named Isabella. I did not care it was just as popular then and Olivia is now. I loved it and I loved the possible nicknames and I saw no problem with it being common. Now here is the thing......... She has a big problem with it. Since she was old enough to know the difference. In preschool & kindergarten when there was 2 other Isabella's in her class she went with Ella, Bella, Izzy switching around when there was another Isabella with the same nickname. She has lucked out last few years that there has not been another Isabella in her direct class and has been able to use her whole name.
I am throwing this out there so you know what might happen but I agree. Olivia is a beautiful name and more important there are cute nicknames for it.

Re: Totally Just Throwing This Out There
I like Olivia a lot, but it's very popular and has been used in DH's family already, so we didn't even consider it.
Lyle is also a family name for us, and I like it.
