Austin Babies

Re-intro

After someone I know IRL commented on one of my posts recently, I've decided to start a new account. I was foolish the first time I signed up and created a username that was too close to my real name.  I never did a formal intro, so here goes:

I am a former teacher who is loving being a SAHM. DD, who is 16 months, totally keeps me on my toes. And to think that I was worried about becoming bored! I am constantly in awe of her independence. She is way more willing to take risks and be social than I've ever been. I'm still BFing, and now that we've weaned to only two times a day, I'm loving it again.

DH is in academia, and his career is the reason we recently moved from Austin to PA.  I keep getting asked if we like it here. It's a hard question to answer, because it's not as though I don't - I just love Austin more. I think perhaps I'll always love Austin more than anywhere else.

I know Philly has a bump site, but it's not near as fun as this one. I feel like I know everyone so well after reading the Austin Bump for two years. I rarely get to post (did I mention my crazy daughter?), but read it almost daily. Happy Friday!

Re: Re-intro

  • Well, "welcome" doesn't seem quite the right word, so "Hey there!" I hope you like Philadelphia more as time goes by. I've always wanted to visit!

  • Re-welcome! My DH is from just outside of Pittsburgh. Although he would looove to move back, and his work opportunities have almost taken us there, I'm so glad we're still in Austin! I hope you're enjoying it, though!

  • I can promise you that you will end up liking Philly so much more!!!! I spent most of my life right out side of Philly and I moved here 4 years ago and I would give just about anything to move back. First of all... the restaurants are amazing! Any type of food you could imagine! And you can get real mexican (not texmex!!!) There is so much to do and the schools are awesome! Pay is better, work days are an hour shorter, medical benefits are much, much better, maternity leave is better! I can keep going!! Message me if you need any recs. Depending on where you are living!!
