I got in touch with my doctor's nurse. Apparently my doctor broke her arm and has been out for a few weeks...bummer. However the fertility specialist in the office is taking my case while she is out. He is having me come in for a CD12 ultrasound to see if I have any mature follies. I won't actually get to see him when I go for my ultrasound but I would have my results that afternoon. The nurse said it would be a good indication as to if Clomid at this dose was working.
I like to be prepared since the phone call could be a short with getting my results with questions ready to ask. So this is how I understand the results could go...
1) follies aren't mature so with this dose my body didn't respond to clomid
2) follies are mature so i "should" ovulate and release at least one
Am I understanding this correctly? Sorry if this is elementary understanding for how clomid works.
Re: Clomid monitoring
In theory, that's how the results should go. Unfortunately, IF is not black and white.
My first Clomid cycle I had a 7.6 follie on CD12. CD16 - I had Od and it showed a corpus luteum (they told me it was a 30mm cyst). So, they said I was "non responsive" and then CD28, BFP. WTF?
My second round - in progress - I had follies all under 10 at CD13. CD26/27, I ovulated. So, althought I didn't respond quickly, in the ideal time frame, I still O'd.
Now, some doctors would have prescribed provera to get another cycle going after my non responsive CD13 u/s. I felt my body was going to O, so I refused. Now I'm in my 2WW and just hoping. However, I still don't think I had a strong O. Maybe I did, who knows.
Good luck and way to be prepared.
