Who do I call OB, regular Doc, LC? Yellow/white nipple?

Ugh I have been experience some discomfort on my right side for a few weeks now.  But just today It became very painful and I noticed my nip was kinda yellow.  I have a appt with my general physician next week for my annual, but now I don't  know if I should wait that long.

Any idea on what could be wrong?  The left side is perfectly fine, and LO seems fine too (he is showing no signs of thrush)

ANd who should I see?  Any chance it will just go away and I can bring it up next week at my appt ?(ha ha I know I know.  But a girl can hope.)

  • IDK about the yellow nipple but you shouldn't have pain for weeks.  I had white nipples with thrush and it was more the nipple hurting not the breast.  Is it hot to the touch, do you have a fever, is the breast red?  Those, and your pain, are signs of mastitis.  My dr (ob/gyn) told me if I had any issues with my breasts to call him.  I've always thought it's weird to see the gyno for breast problems since their specialty seems a little farther south to me but apparently that's how they all work.  Of course I see my ob/gyn for my annuals too, not a general physician.  Even if it is mastitis you can continue feeding LO, according to my LC.

    TY.
I called my GP and they said said she couldn't get me in "for that", so I called my OB. After explaining my symptoms they said I HAD to be seen today.  They didn't have any openings so they called another practice and asked if they would see me.  I love my OB office, I shouldn't have even bothered calling my GP.
