Milk Donation

I am considering donating some of my frozen stash.  DD was a preemie and I would absolutely love to help other preemie or sick babies.

I currently have about 200-250 oz frozen and I am consistently pumping at least 8 oz more than DD is eating (I pump 4 days a week- so at least 32 extra oz a week )

How much do you think I should keep for my personal frozen stash?

Re: Milk Donation

  • A lot of milk banks have a minimum amount (like 100 oz), so I would probably donate that to start. They also have a lot of rules about sterilizing pump parts and medications and things, but as a mom of a preemie you're more likely to have followed that anyway.

It's a great gift! If the "real" milk banks won't take it or are too complicated, look into Human Milk for Human Babies or Eats of Feets on Facebook. They connect you directly with a mom/baby that needs it.
