Biting

DS is majorly teething (he's 6 months) and has been biting me constantly for the past several days.  My nipples are so sore!  Does anyone have any advice?  When he bites, I tell him 'no' and remove him, but it really doesn't seem to be making a difference.

He also doesn't take a bottle (refuses), so bottle feeding through the worst of it isn't really an option.

Re: Biting

  • Ouch, I feel your pain... LO did this off and on for a couple weeks. I used my Medela cream daily, removed her each time she bit for a couple minutes and said "no, that hurts mommy", tried to make sure her latch was really good and she was really hungry before I put her on. If I tried to feed her when she wasn't hungry yet she'd usually chomp me.

I think I've read that if it's teething related to give them a cold cloth to chew on first then their gums are a little numb when they nurse. Good luck, it'll pass!
