anyone use tri-sprintec bc

Sorry to bother everyone. My dr wants to switch me to tri-sprintec birth control. I keep reading bad reviews of it, I am getting worried to take it. Anyone take it and can give me insight?

Dr also mentioned desogen? any reviews.

Thanks!!!

  • I took it for awhile.  Worked well enough, didn't get pregnant.  However, I did begin to get break through bleeding.  I'm on Junel FE now.

  • I used regular sprintec before having DD, and Dr. just put me on Ortho Tri Cylen which is the brand for Tri-Sprintec. I haven't had any problems with either. I actually wanted to go back to Tri-Sprintec but believe it or not the brand is cheaper on my insurance.

  • I am on it right now because it only cost $9 at Wal-Mart with no imsurance. It's works well enough. Not pregnant yet! But I have nearly a constant headache from Sunday to about Thursday of the dummy pill week, and I cramp like a idontknowwhat!! But I'm not changing until I get back on prescription insurance!

  • I have been on it for years before I got pregnant & just switched back to it from the minipill. I've never had an issue with it.

  • I was on tri-sprintec for years before DS and am back on it now.  I've never had any side effects from it.  It's the only one that I don't spot between periods with.

  • FWIW everyone is different. I had a terrible time on Tri-Sprintec! Horrible bloating, headache, super irritable, and breakthrough bleeding. I had always been on Ortho Lo but since this was the generic and so much cheaper I tried it. My doc said even tho they are the generic of the same thing they aren't identical and those specific hormones just didn't mesh well in my system so I had to go back to Ortho Lo. I think it's always worth a shot though, you can always switch if it doesn't work for you.

  • I use it and like it. I actually asked to get put back on it after suffering horrible headaches on Yaz.
  • I just got a prescription for trisprintec too! I also read all of the horrible reviews online and am so scared to take it. Thanks for the 'better' reviews! Eek!
