Using frozen milk

I have only ever thawed my frozen milk bags in luke warm water in a bowl to be used immediately. If I want to use one tomorrow night, when should I take it out? Do I just put it in the fridge to thaw out? Seems like such a noob question, but I haven't done this in the entire 6 months! Thanks!! :)

Re: Using frozen milk

  • If I want to defrost milk in the fridge, I set the bags in a tupperware dish overnight (in case the bag leaks). If the bag isn't completely defrosted I let it sit in a dish of warm water to finish it off.

  • take it out and put it in the fridge to defrost.  Or you can just put it in warm water tomorrow night right before you use it.
  • I take mine out and put them in the fridge a full 24 hours before I use them - and even then it's still a bit slushy - but good enough to get in the bottle and then daycare warms them up when it's time.
