Using Ameda Elite tips?

I was able to get a rental Ameda Elite pump from the hospital after my pump pooped out on suction. But the directions that come with it really aren't that great. I didn't use a pump while at the hospital after having DD so I have no experience w/this pump. Any tips on how to use it best?

*My Purely Yours Ultra pump made some crunching noises this morning, but I was still able to use it, and got bad suction when I tried to use it again. I replaced all parts that I could replace and no better suction. I'm calling Ameda today about warranty and sending another.

It's a simple pump to use.  I usually keep it on the fastest setting and work my way up to 50% or so... but when my supply was better I could simulate a nursing session to get a couple of letdowns (faster, then reduce the # of sucks with a stronger suction, then fast again with lighter suction, repeat).  I'm barely getting an ounce per pump these days... sigh.
