Dear Prometrium...

Even if I get a BFN on Saturday, can I keep the boobs?

How are all my other 2ww ladies doing?  What are your symptoms? Are you planning on POAS'ing or waiting until beta? 

The progesterone side effects are annoying in the way they mimic pregnancy symptoms -- I've had mild nausea since starting the Prometrium (pre-ET).  Also eating like a horse.  And then of course I've got the bigger boobs, which I really wouldn't mind keeping (and neither would DH -- too bad he can't really enjoy them right now).  I've had cramping off and on since ET -- or ER, really, not much to go on either way.

I resisted the urge to PIAC when I woke up in the middle of the night last night. I'm waiting until beta so I can get it over with all at once and not have any more stress than absolutely necessary!

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

    I still have my fingers and toes crossed for you!  I hope your beta comes back superb.  I also hope that either way you get to keep the new boobies :)

    Ahhh I'm so excited for you!  I can't believe you haven't peed on anything yet.  You have a lot of will power!  I plan on POAS next Wednesday which will be 9dp3dt.

    MFI, Lap on 7/21/11 - Stage III/IV Endo and Polyps removed by D&C
    IVF #1 with ICSI - ER 1/20 (16R, 12M, 10F), ET 1/23 (1-10 cell and 1-8cell transferred), BFP on 1/31 Beta #1 on 2/3 = 68, Beta #2 on 2/6 = 261 EDD 10/12/12  
    Baby girl born 9/22/12

    FET #1 - 9/16/13 - BFN

    IVF #2 - ER 11/11/13 (24R, 18M, 16F), ET 11/16 (2 Grade A blasts)
    BFP on 11/23 Beta #1 = 76 EDD 8/2/14

    I had a reduction too!  Best thing I ever did!

    Lynda, enjoy the boobs!  I hope you keep them for the next 9 months.  And way to go for not POAS.  I'm thinking about you.  Good luck! 

     


    After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!
    IVF March 2012 - BFP! - Severe OHSS = 8 days in the hospital in kidney failure
    No heartbeat at 10w6d
    FET August 27,2012 = BFP!

    I don't want to give you false hope, but I feel I must tell you this... I am also a member of the "small boobs" club, and I actually had to go out and buy bigger bras after my last IVF didn't work.  My boobs never shrunk all the way back down, and it's been 3 months!  It was the one small victory I've had in this so far Big Smile

    As a fellow member of the IBTC I am jealous of your side effects. The Prometrium has done nothing for my boobs except make me a back sleeper. They hurt so badly but they just refuse to grow :/. Good luck Lynda!! I am rooting for you big time!!

    Married June 2007, TTC since May 2010. Me=40, age-related infertility, DOR, low prog, low AMH. DH=37,low morph.
    IUI#1 (Dec. 2011)=BFN, IUI#2=unexpected early O=TI=BFN. Official IUI#2=BFN.
    IUI#3=3/17/12=BFN.
    Stims for IVF#1 started 7/6/12. ER done 7/15/12. ICSI and AH. Transferred 2 embies 7/17/12. Stick little ones, stick! Beta 7/30/12=BFN HcG less than 2.
    Surprise BFP while deciding next steps! EDD: 5/10/13

    Mine have grown an entire cup size this year thanks to treatments and show no signs of going away! They were never small to begin with, but dh is super pleased with it anyway.

    Farmerlynda that is exciting your beta is so close! good job not POAS and good luck!

    I am IBTC as well and no such growing luck :(. My prog. has made me bloated, hungry all the time, emotional, sick, bathroom issues and did i mention sick? YAY progesterone haha. My POAS trigger finger is getting itches I hope i can have the strength your did :).

    You are too funny.  I wondered why my boobs were so big.  Guess it's the progesterone. 

    My beta is on Sunday.  Do you test and get results on Sat?  I haven't PEOS yet either.

    That cracked me up! FX that you get to keep the boobs for at least 9 months! 
    Me: 33, Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, DOR (AMH .35), DH: 38, Borderline low morph
    5/09- Off BCP, 5/09-9/09- No period, 9/09-9/10- Lots of Tests & accupuncture
    10/10 and 11/10- 2 rounds of Menopur + TI= BFNS
    12/10-IUI #1 Menopur = BFN
    1/11- IUI #2 Menopur = BFP, 2/11 missed mc at 9 weeks, D&C
    5/11- Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum
    6/11- IUI #3 Menopur = BFP, 8/11 missed mc at 11 weeks, D&C
    1/12- Lap and Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum (again) & scar tissue
    2/12- Stint Removal, 3/12 repeat SHG and HSG- showed scar tissue blocking right tube
    4/12- Operative hysteroscopy (again), RE said he can now see right tube (yay!)
    5/12- Stint removal, 6/12 repeat SHG and HSG-both tubes are open!
    8/12- IUI #4 Bravelle = BFN
    9/12-IUI #5 Bravelle = BFN
    1/13- IVF #1, micro-flare protocol, 7R, 6F, 5dt of 2 AA embryos, 1 to freeze = BFP

    Hi,

     

    Not sure if you remember me or not...I'm easing in from a two month bumpbreak...but I'm on IUI#3...My beta is Monday...I'm also too terrified to POAS :-( I really love your letter to prometrium. The first two times I was on it I had the big boobs and appetite like you describe...I don't know what my deal is this time, but they haven't changed at all! WTH!? On the plus side, I don't get the soreness either.

    I don't have any symptoms. Maybe a little bit of cramping or sloshy feelings every now and again...but I'm REALLY trying to stay optimistic.

     I'll end my nervous rambling by saying good luck to the both of us.
