I am starting some solids with one of my twins (the other has shown no interest) and am not sure how/when to get the breast milk to mix with the cereal. Do I have to pump? If so, when would I do that to not screw up their regular BF'ing. The last few times we have just been trying I hand express a little for him to just experiment with. Unfortunately he is really taking to it and wants more than I am hand expressing after BF'ing.
Should I just mix it with water? Or should I pull some BM out of the freezer? Or should I pump at some point?
TIA!!
Re: Stupid question, rice cereal related
I do rice cereal a little after a nursing session, so I just pump the BM left over after nursing and add that. It's usually no more than a couple tablespoons worth. Don't mix with water, that's for older babies.
Usually there's instructions on the cereal packaging, if that helps.
