IVF-Microdose Flare Protocol-Stimming?

Yesterday was day 4 of stims (I'm on 2 amps of menopur, 4 amps of bravelle with mircrodose lupron) and I had my first monitoring appt today.  I only have 7 follices total-3 small on each side and one 14 on the right.  I'm disappointed that 7 is all there is and that they are still so small, and the one lead follie worries me.

I asked the RE if after a few more days additional follicles could pop up and he said he doesn't think so-but after looking around on dr.google (opps!)  it seems like that could be a possiblity.

Any feedback from anyone with this protocol.  I know its so early to be discouraged, but that's how I feel today.

I'm sorry that you are dealing with a lead! Those dam leads! I had the same issue with Lupron Flare (slightly different from MDLF). Do you happen to know the size of the smaller ones? They grow 1-2 mm a day in most cases. Am Cheri had a follie grow 3 mm in a day. I just had a follie not grow at all in a day. So, I really think it depends on the size of the smaller ones. Hugs honey, I know how tough this all is. I feel like a lot of us have had lead issues on this protocol. Sending growing vibes to your smaller ones and hope the 14 starts sharing the meds with the others!

I was on MDLF for my last IVF and will be again if we can ever get this show on the road!!

I asked my RE about this at our WTF.  I thought that maybe stimming longer would have allowed some of the smaller guys to catch up, but he said that with the flare protocol the idea is that you give a large dose of stims early and wake-up the ovary, but that's the one shot at getting follies to respond.  After the initial flare it's just about growing the ones you've got.

I still don't think you should be discouraged, though because they may just not be seeing all the follies that you do have.  Before I went to ER on my last cycle, RE thought we'd get 2, maybe 3, eggs, but we ended up with 5 mature.  I guess there were a couple of follies hiding in there!  Fingers crossed that you've got some shy guys too!!
