Yes, we have used them. They are NOT harmful no worries unless you are using them ALL the time. As a nurse I can tell you they are safe for most infants again, unless there is an underlying issue. Some little ones have issues going...no big deal. Another trick for a newborn/younger infant is rectal stimulation with a thermometer. Just barely stick the tip in with vaseline on it and that sometimes works too! Prune juice is another trick. I used to always mix the prune juice in with the milk.
We have had to use them a couple of times. It seems to be the only things that works for our girls. We only used them after their Pedi suggested it though. I would check with your Pedi before doing it.
We used them every 21 days with DD when she was little because there was no movement from digesting BM that efficiently... Again - only 1/4 and under a pedi's orders....
Same as pp... I used one on DS and it was only because my pedi suggested it. It worked great! Pedi also suggested giving him a couple oz. of Pedialyte a day to help things along until his poop is back to normal. Definitely talk to your pedi first, though.
