Baby Names

variations of addison

We love the name Addison but it has become so popular lately. Dh really likes the nn Addie so im wondering if any other names come to mind that could potentially lead to the nn of Addie?

or... the name that came before Addison - Allison NN Allie. (I prefer Allison anyways)

  • Addie and Maddie are superpopular nicknames for little girls.  If you are worried about the popularity of Addison you might want to consider that too.  FWIW, I like Adelaide, Adele and Adonia a lot!

NMS, but have the nn Addie

Adelyn and Adeline.. but I think they are both ugly.

  • Adeline is on our long list.

  • The nn Addie is more popular than Addison, something to consider.

DD is Adair, but has never been called Addie - probably because we don't use it, but I suppose you could.

See bold. Also, Addison is not pretty on a daughter, IMO.

Considering . . . Agatha, Beatrix, Clara, Daphne, Isadora, Josephine, Matilda, Philippa, Tabitha, Winifred . . .
  • Whether you name her Addison or Adele/Adelaide/etc there are still going to be a ton of little girls with the NN Addie.

This exactly.  But, I like allthe options.  Just please don't spell Addison any other way, ie. no to Addisyn.

  • I really like Adelaide and Adeline. But PPs are right. The NN "Addie" is everywhere right now. So if you're concerned about popularity, I would look for something else.
  • As much as i don't want to i think we are going to let addison off of the list :( i think i was just needing a little help deciding. Dh will have to find another nn he likes besides addie! Thanks ladies:)
