How do you tell the difference between CM and Sperm?

Correct me if I'm wrong ladies, but I believe semen will be absorbed into the tp while CM doesn't.

To be honest. I don't know. I have stopped checking my CM. But... I do find that when i'm in my "fertile window" most of the semen stays in me vs. when i'm not in that window.

I don't know about the tp trick (though that sounds cool). I have heard that you have to wait 12 hours post-intercourse to count it as fertile CM and not semen. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks ladies these all sound good to me. I think I will try the wait 12 hours trick see how that does... I suppose I could smell it but that sounds a little gross..

After sex, I wait at least 6-12 hours to check CM again.  Or I just don't check it and hope it was the good stuff.

This is not true...at least in my recent experience.  

EWCM is meant to make a seamless transition for the sperm from semen to go up the cervix so it's definitely understandable that it's hard to decipher.

Even when I checked the next day I was never sure about which it was.  I always seemed to have EWCM after sex, so maybe it really wasn't.  Although when we were TI most of our sex was at that time of the month anyway.  Sorry I am no help.
