Cloth Diapering

leak question

We have had two side leaks with our BG's today already and I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.  We have been using them for about 2 weeks with no problems but a couple of days ago I started using cloth wipes, which I wet and added some baby wash to.  Would the baby wash cause the diapers to repel?  If so, how can I fix this?  That is the only thing I have done differently.

Also, when did you switch the newborn inserts out for the regular sized inserts?

Re: leak question

  • We used the regular inserts once DS started sleeping longer stretches at night and needed the extra absorbency.

As for leaking...I found it really depending on my son's current size. The OS would fit well for a month or 2, then he would hit an awkward period where they didn't fit very well, so we would use a different pocket (FuzziBunz) then re-introduce the BG.

Repelling might be an issue, but you can test for that by putting some warm water in a peri bottle or squirt bottle and seeing if the liquid rolls off the sides with a nice stream of warm water.
