Breastfeeding

introducing bottle at 8 months

I know it's too late... I used bottles regularly when she was 1 month old, but I got sick of washing bottles and pump parts for no reason (SAHM) and gave up.  Now that she's 8 months, I'm desparate for a date night with hubby.  We can go, just after she falls asleep, which makes for a late date night.

Have any of you had success introducing a bottle this late?  any tips?

Re: introducing bottle at 8 months

  • I think you might have more luck with a sippy cup at this age.  It will take a while for her to get the hang of it, but it might give you the relief you need.  Good luck!

  • I started introducing a sippy with her solids since 6 months.  She bites down, but the liquid just runs down her chin.  I've tried warm BM and water (so i don't waste my BM).

  • Maybe try a no-spill sippy cup with a hard top? Does she have to have breastmilk at bedtime? 8 months is old enough that you could nurse her before you leave, and she'll be fine until you come back, even if it's a few hours (she might not be happy, but she'd be okay, ha ha).
