Hi all! I just had a little girl 4 days ago and I'm beginning to have some issues and would love some advice! I have been exclusively breast feeding since she was born..everything started off well. We had some spit ups and pukes of colostrum at the beginning but were told that was normal. Since then, the spit ups had slowed down and things began flowing smoothly. My milk came in yesterday morning and beginning with her feeding at 3a today, she has spit up about two tbsp with each feed. Sometimes a little bit more, rarely less. At first, I noticed it happened assign as I sat her up to burp her and then when she burped as well. A couple times it even happened a couple hours after she ate. I noticed she was finishing a side in about 10 to 13 minutes, so I wondered if maybe se was eating too fast and too much. I started taking a break every five minutes to slow her down...the first time I tried, it kind of helped...not quite as much spit up. This time, she won't latch back on. I'm really worried because her Coombs test was positive and she is definitely jaundiced and her poop has slowed down as well. She had a couple good yellow bf poops, but since the spit ups started, she's had a few smears for the most part. The cure for jaundice is eating and pooping...and we aren't doing either very well. I was just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. Should I call her pediatrician? I was going to call a lactation consultant tomorrow. The kicker is though, im a peds RN..so idk if im over reacting or over looking! Thank you do much for any help!
