I think my mom had a stroke. We were talking and she started slurring her speech. Im just glad that i was there. Waiting at the hospital now. I'm freaking out! I hate this.

T&Ps missy, thankfully you were there and knew that slurred speech can be a symptom and took it seriously enough to react. The timing is so important! Keep us posted.

Thanks so much everyone. She had a TIA, or mini stroke. Not a stroke so that was great news. That was about one of the scariest things I've ever witnessed! We were talking and laughing about something and she just put her head down. Then she started slurring her speech and I noticed a little drooping in her eye. She is improving with only some lingering effects. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. We got the best news possible in this situation.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your thoughts and prayers. You ladies are the best.

My mom is still in the hospital. Waiting on testing results. She was up and around today and pretty much back to her normal self, beside being tired. I'm so thankful it wasn't worse than it was. It's scary to think that as I get older, my parents are getting older too. They are now senior citizens and we will have to deal with these issues. She was officially diagnosed with parkinsons disease. Not a complete shock, but still pretty humbling and a pretty big reality check. I take having them around for granted.
