I try to go grocery shopping once per week, but sometimes I'll have to make a second quick trip.
For the large trip, I would wear the baby in the Ergo and she was content as could be. I would get a "fun" cart for DD1 --- a spaceship, car, whatever. I would also pack a couple of fun snacks: organic lollipop, fruit snacks, pretzels. I meal plan and make very specific grocery snacks. It helps keep me organized in the store and the trips have always gone smoothly.
For a quick trip, I either pop the infant seat in the double stroller or set it in the basket part of the store. I'm in and out in less than 10 minutes for those trips.
Try to avoid it at all costs, LOL. When DS was an infant, DD would sit in the child part of the cart and I wore him in the K'tan or Ergo. Once he could safely sit on his own, they were both put in the carts in the shape of a car with a steering wheel / seat belts, etc

I go alone with both kids and shop during the week. DD goes in the top part and DS goes in the basket in his infant seat. I am able to fit all of our shopping in there with him and it keeps me from buying too much. I do one large shipping trip then sometimes I run to the store for little things at different times.
I have done smaller trips with both girls. DD1 in the seat up front, DD2 in the infant carrier in the basket but this was when I was just needing to grab a few things I could be in and out quickly and put them around DD2's seat.
Big trips we did as a family when they were younger (before DD2 was mobile) but now I just go alone. DH doesn't love shopping, he especially hates it with the girls because it's just a lot of work to keep them entertained in a cart for that long. I go after he gets off work or on the weekends. I walk very slowly around the store and get a nice little break and he gets some time with his girls that doesn't involve keeping our 2.5 year old from trying the scale the shelves for cookies or juice boxes ;-) I HIGHLY recommend trying to work it out in your schedule to go alone if you can! It's seriously been a saving grace for me lately to have that time! I still take short trips to the store with them if I need to but the big trips I do alone.
I meal plan and only go once a week usually on thursday but now that both boys go to school on fridays I wait until friday mornings.
When DS2 was little, I wore him in the baby k'tan and put DS1 in the cart. DS2 hated the infant seat and would never sit in it long enough to go shopping. Once ds2 could sit they went in the double cart together. My main problem is Ds2 is not a shopper. He hates going anywhere to shop so it's hard to take him to the grocery store. We shop at publix so I bribe them with the free cookie and do the shopping as fast as possible.
When DD was younger and still in the infant seat, it depended on what I was buying. For grabbing a few quick things, I'd put the infant seat in the cart and put DS in the seat. For a bigger trip I wear the baby in the ergo/DS in the cart's seat. Now that there's no more infant seat I always wear the baby no matter what.
I may take both kids to the store alone for a quick trip...but our big grocery shopping trip we do as a family. Both DH and I like to go, so we do it together. Occasionally we will have his mom watch the kids while DH and I go alone, now that is nice!
I always park next to the cart return and look for one that has a cart in it already. I wear DD and put DS in the front seat. I always go with my list so we're in and out. I load the groceries into the car, strap DD in, return the cart and get DS out and in the car. Super easy!
We only grocery shop once a week and we go as a family early Sunday morning. DS1 in cart with DH pushing. DS2 in stroller with me pushing. I love it because I have somewhere to put my coupons and list without grabby hands:)
DH does any side trips to the store during the week on his lunch break or after work as I only have 30 minutes for lunch and do daycare pickup.
It varies. I can't wear DD because she has a brittle bone condition and it's potentially dangerous for her.
Sometimes I go on the weekends and just take DS. Sometimes I just make small trips and take both - I put Jackson in the main part of the basket and Olivia in the seat.
If I only need a few things, I use the double.

I go when my husband can watch the kids I can do it by myself but it is a PITA.
We have started to go shopping together on Saturdays. I carry the baby in the moby, and my older one sits in the cart. It is a (sadly) fun family outing for us. The girls love going to the store and get to look at all the people!
My DH works 60+ hours a week so I am always going alone.
When they were very little I would put DD in the cart and wear DS. I had to make sure I got her in the seat in one-hit because if she resisted or threw a tantrum she would potentially kick him in the head (it never happen but as I lifted her into the cart her feet were always very close to his little head).
If he was asleep in the carseat I would put his carseat in the double stroller and she would sit in the stroller. At the time I had the kolcraft contours stroller and the basket is so large I could do all my shopping.
Now.... DD sits with the groceries and DS sits in the seat. It does limit how much I can buy and eggs and such get put under the cart (where you put drinks and large items) so they don't break.
I try to memorize which supermarkets have the large carts with 2 seats (like Costco) and only go there so I can do it all in one trip.
