I was just researching boosters and I thought I would save people time if you're looking too. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety just put this out in October - they do all the crash testing that you hear about for cars, car seats and boosters. It has the list of 51 boosters that passed their inspection plus a short tutorial on how the lap belt and shoulder belt should fit. Hope it helps!

If you have a booster your child really likes, I'd love to hear what it is (assuming it is on this best bets list).
Thanks!
Re: PSA- booster seat recommendations by IIHS
Britax Frontier x2 for my 3 and 5 year old dd's, both harnessed still, and very tall. Love that they've kept this up to date, I'm still waiting to here their take on the Diono's new feature of being a booster. And yes, all our seats are on the best bets list, and recommended by CRST's (dh is).
If ever you are looking for more info, don't hesitate to post on gear, catkarls and I have links to most of the legit sites for info and more. GHM on Parenting is pretty savvy and emilymadison on 12-24 is a CRST as well.
We have the Recaro Vivo and the Recaro ProBooster. Love them both. The ProBooster is a little nicer because it's the newer model. The seat part is a little longer, and there's more side impact protection. Both fit DD really well. She's approx 48" and 47 lbs.
ETA: We moved her to a booster right after she turned 5. She was 44 lbs and almost 46" then.

DS#3 - Allergic to Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts and Sesame
Both my kids have (or had) the Evenflo Big Kid Sport. I drive a Toyota Sienna, and back seat passengers need to be pretty tall for the shoulder belt to fit appropriately. As a result, my DD (who is tall!) sat in a booster until she was about 10. My DS is still in his booster, even though he's 7. He will probably continue to sit in a booster in my van for a while.
I like the Evenflo because it's less "carseat-like" than some other seats, but still gets an excellent rating. My kids have been willing to continue to sit in a booster for a long time after the law required because of this.
