Increase suppy?

Does anyone have any suggestions on increasing my milk supply?  I am currently supplying enough but I just returned to work and am concerned that I am not going to be able to continue pumping enough.  I am currently pumping three times a day during the work day and then usually once right before I go to bed.  My DD usually goes to bed 2-3 hrs before I do and then either sleeps all night or gets up once a night.  When I nurse she seems to be full as she always lets go herself.  But she is eating 4 oz bottles and I don't always get enough in one pumping for one feeding and she is eating 3 to 4 bottles a day.

  • I am trying to inc my supply too and I've heard that Mother's Milk tea in the Organic section of the grocery store works.  Also another friend of mine told me to pump right after nursing and that kind of tricks your body into producing more.

  • You can pump after nursing, eat oatmeal, drink ginger ale with real ginger in it, drink mother's milk tea! Good luck!

  • Have you tried fenugreek?

  • Fenugreek, More Milk Plus, oatmeal, lactation cookies, power pumping.

Make sure you're eating enough and drinking enough. Can you add in a pumping session somewhere?

  • Ancupunture works too!

  • Are you close to 4oz when you pump?  Like, 3.5oz?  Make sure whoever is giving the bottles is feeding them correctly, and she really needs 4oz.  I'm not doubting she does, 4oz is pretty normal (that's what my LO takes).  But I usually pump 3-4oz each time.  My LO gets 4 bottles per day and I pump 5x to get enough.

  • No I haven't. I've heard yuu should contact your physician before taking fenugreek if you are breastfeeding. Have you heard that? And have you used this yourself? Do you feel it really works?
  • I add in a pumping session whenever I can.  I currently am getting enough milk but that includes pumping even when she may be sleeping and not receiving a bottle.  My concern is that I won't be able to continue getting enough milk when she starts eating more.
  • I usually get between 3 - 4 oz.  She does eat the 4 oz only a couple of times has she not finished the entire bottle and that was only maybe a 1/2 oz.  She usually gets 3 bottles, sometimes 4,  a day but it all depends on when she gets up in the morning for her first feeding.
