DD is sleeping and I am avoiding housework... I am BY NO MEANS implying I am any kind of expert, but if you have any questions about 3rd tri, labor, first few weeks I would be happy to try and help if I can... always found it useful when people did this before I had DD.
I am BFing, pumping (mostly to build supply, but she gets one bottle a day), had an epi at 9cm
Re: have any questions?
BFing... really it's all about patience. I was pretty lucky because she latched pretty well right away. As far as soreness, etc... I bought the Lanolin cream and just used it alot in the beginning, never had any problems. Stick it out, because it gets SO much easier pretty fast.
Hardest part of BFing for me was that it's a major commitment and no one can help all that much. No matter how tired, sore, etc. feeding was all on me. DH could get up and change her or whatever, but it's a pretty huge demand on the mom. I was lonely at night, etc. Now that we are sleeping more, feeling great, etc. I wouldn't change that time we have together for anything.
Adjusting to a newborn... just enjoy it because I wasn't ready for how fast she would change. Everyday I feel like I am looking at a new baby. I can totally see why they use sleep deprivation as a torture technique.... it's brutal. Take any help at all you can get. It gets a little easier everyday. Follow their cues best you can (it's a total guessing game) and just use your own instincts... most of the time there isn't a right and wrong thing to do. Good luck to you!
