For the past 2-3 nights when I put Whitney down to bed, she will wake up about 2 hours later, crying hyserically. For the first two nights, H got her, and would rock her and then put her back to bed. He would lay her on his chest, and he described to me that she was doing something similiar to "humping". I didnt think anything of it.
Last night I got up with her, and brought her into bed with me to give her a bottle and comfort her. She was laying on her back, and just from the glow of the tv, I could see her even doing that humping motion on her back. She was EXTREMLY tired. Yawning, etc, so I don't think she even knew what she was doing.
Any idea's? It was like jerky motions, very weird.
Re: Very Weird Question
First- your siggy pic is adorable.
Second- you are probably right. I guess I was wondering if anyone elses LO's were doing it. When I google it, its a lot of garbage about kids mimicking seeing adults doing it. Yeah right!!!!! Not in my house! It must just be a reaction to being tired. Maybe she is trying to get comfortable, or fighting sleep- and thats what she does.
Definitley weird. I'm not writing it in the baby book. lol
1. Thanks!
2. Those people are weirdos.
Ok, good to know my LO isnt the only one.
LMAO! I try not to leave anything out of the kids journals, but some things just need to be forgotten haha.
To the original subject, Emily does the jerky humping thing all the time. I never thought of it as humping, because she usually is using her feet to rock back and forth. I think it sounds the same though. Aiden never did it, but I'm sure there were plenty of other weird things he did do with his body.
I guess humping might not be the right word, but it looks like a bit of a pelvic thrust.
Glad to see my LO isnt the only one. It could very well be a reaction to being exhausted.
This made me laugh for some reason. I think if should go under milestones or firsts in the baby book.
The first time H saw Jay do it was at MIL's. She looked at H and said "Get your mind out of the gutter". I am sure older kids may mimick their parents but I doubt any 12 month old is.
