so. ... yesterday was a first; DD got a letter from one of my college friend's 6ish yo daughter. Of course, since my child CAN'T read and has never met this kid, I opened the letter. Its some stupid for chain letter - asking DD to send STICKERS to one of the kids and then forward on the letter to 6 more friends w/ the name of whoever sent it to her and blah, blah, blah, eventually, she'll have 11 billion stickers.
stupidest thing ever - that went right in the trash.
it would be one thing if she she was older and they were doing it in their class or something, but she's not even old enough to care.
Re: chain letters for kids
That's so weird. Your friend has to know that your DD is only 3 and not capable of doing this. Actually, the six your old would need help with this also.
I got a chain letter that had a dollar scratch off in it a couple months ago. I was supposed to send six of them to six friends. That also went in the trash--I hate those things.
Ha, I got one of these too. Is it bad that I scratched it off to see if I won any money first before trashing it? And also I love how it instructed "don't ruin the fun for everyone else-send it on". hahahaha. I am just a big party pooper.
I did keep the scratch off for some reason--I think I might scratch it off tonight..hehe. I just know my friends, none of them would send it on so I was just wasting my time, you know?

and I wouldn't have even been so annoyed if my friend didn't know alot of people w/ kids, but she has a big family, w/ siblings, step siblings, cousins, etc. and they all have kids the same age, etc. I just thought, you need 6 kids for this and you needed to bug us?
Total side note- Stickers are freakin' expensive!
Evie got a few from the doctor's office and we just ran out. I was going to get some for her at target, but they are like $4 for a tiny pack. That's crazy! Next time I get the Oriental Trading Company catalog I am going to order a few rolls of the cheapie ones.
So no wonder kids want other people to buy them stickers.
DD1 got that letter a few months ago. We didn't play.
One of the reasons we shop @ Trader Joe's- they have a sticker rack that DD mauls on a weekly basis. She easily walks away w/ like 4 feet of stickers every visit. It would be annoying if she didn't use them to make "art" at home. Better than buying them I say!
When we got home the last time we went there, Ava was in the car seat covered head to toe in those stickers!
