I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I just worry about this stuff. My LO has a yeast infection on his bottom. We are treating it with anti-fungal cream as our doctor suggested. Should I be worried that we may have thrush coming our way or is that completely unrelated because this is on his butt. I read somewhere that a YI in the mother can be a sign of thrush, so I figured this might be an indication too. I just hear the term "yeast" and kind of panic that it means we will end up with BF issues. TIA!

Re: LO has a yeast infection on bottom.....thrush connection?
They are the same thing, thrush is just another word for it. I would talk to your doctor about treating yourself too even if you don't have symptoms because if you get it in your nipples it hurts like hell to BF. I've had it twice!
I'd also recommend using cloth breast pads and using a 1/4 cup vinegar rinse with every load of laundry to try and keep it under control. HTH!
Hmm....Would I have to talk to my doctor (OB/GYN) or could our pediatrician help me since she is treating LO? WDYT?

DD1 battled a diaper yeast rash for a couple of weeks early on and I never got thrush or had a problem BFing (it never went to her mouth or my breast).
I would just make sure to wash after every change.
