Yes, I know my baby has been out of the womb just shy of three weeks but I am already thinking about classes - guess its the latent tiger mom in me. Particularly swimming classes - around here there are several places that start at six months, and since I have a bit of a water phobia I definitely *want* my LO to be smart and comfortable in the water ASAP. There are also music classes, "play" classes and art classes, all starting pretty young. Anyone also thinking about classes, or any 2+ moms have wisdom and experience in the matter?
Addendum: I know there are mixed "expert" opinions about the value of infant swim classes. I want to know about your personal experience, if you have it.
Re: Infant Classes
My mom did an infant swim class with me and said I absolutely loved it. Maybe it's because I'm a pisces. I ended up joining a swim team as a teenager and still love to swim today. Our local high school has a toddler swim class and I'll probably do that with LO when she's around a year or so old. I'm hoping my love of the water and swimming rubs off on her.
I'm a FTM so I'm not sure how much little babies get out of the classes when they're so little. I think they're more for the parents than the babies. I think if they help you by giving you something to do together, getting you out of the house and maybe helping you meet other moms in your area then they can be a good thing.
