Sucky 3 day report

Ok ladies...please let me know if I made a bad decision.

We had 9 egg retrieved on Saturday, 7 were mature and 6 fertilized.  Today I learned that we have

1 8 cell grade 1 (the best grade)

1 6 cell grade 2

2 5 cell grade 2

1 4 cell grade 2

1 4 cell grade 3

 So....not good news.  RE offered to do a 3 day transfer but we decided to wait out the 5 days.  We know its likely nothing will be left on Thursday but I think if its not going to make it in the dish, then it wont make it in me either.  I'm also scared of another m/c from transferring a sucky embie.  I think I'd rather just move on on Thursday, if need be, than wait the 2 weeks or worse waiting out an inevitble m/c.  

Am I being stupid?  I'm totally devastated.  I had high hopes for this cycle.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    I think you made the right decision.  I was forced to do 2dt's for both IVF's. On day 2, my embies were terrible and I felt like it was a waste of 2 weeks to put them back in and wait. If I ever do another IVF, I'd rather risk having nothing to transfer than put back embies that were clearly deficient imo and suffer through 2 weeks for no reason.

    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    I agree with the pp's.  You have made the right decision waiting for a 5dt.  You may be pleasantly surprised.  Grow embies grow!!!

    I think you made the right call. It will be hard on Thursday if there isn't anything to transfer but those extra growing days can tell you a lot.

    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.  
    Moving forward with Adoption 2017!

    DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)

    I went with a 5dt on 2 of my 3 IVF cycles and I only had 2 to 3 embies for those cycles.  You never know which ones will be the best at day 5.  I think you made the right decision.

    ~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~ 

    Me= 37 and DH = 41 

    Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)

    IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN

    IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.

    IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132.  Lil is here!

    TTC#2:  Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.

    IVF #4:  BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #5:  MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #6:  (New RE):  Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN

    FET#1:  BFN

    Good Luck. I don't know what I would have done. I had 2 3 days and one was a m/c and the other didn't work. I had an 8 and a 6 the first time and a 6 and 4 the last time, so maybe waiting you can learn more. I only had two each time though, so we put back on day 3.

     Have a lot of them just not the quality Ud wanted.  So I agree. U need a 5dt for selection.  And ur right, if they dont make it in the lab...they weren't going to make it.  I sooo hope u have something great to transfer
