I have seen them referred to as crib shoes. I know that as our LOs learn to walk, it is best for them to be barefoot. But are the Robeez similar to them being barefoot?
I bought a pair of knock off ones at target for my older son when he started cruising, and I'll probably pick up a pair for Liam as well (I think they're around $12 there) I liked them when he started cruising because they kept the socks on his feet & prevented him from tripping over them (this wasn't so much a concern at home, I would just take the socks off if he started moving around, but he had to wear socks at daycare)
Abbey has a couple Robeez...they are good cause they don't fall off...they have leather soles so they aren't too slippery....
This! LO doesn't walk or cruise yet, but they keep his socks on his feet (MOST of the time) he is a pro at pulling socks and other types of shoes off his feet. There are a lot of knock offs as well that work too. There are two types of shoes, one has the leather sole (similar to walking barefoot), and the others have a harder sole, but I'm pretty sure the hard sole ones only come in bigger sizes.
From what I understand, your baby should NOT be in hard sole shoes until after they learn to walk. So, Robeez offer a soft sole shoe and I agree with PPs, they keep Molly's socks on. Although I caught her eating the shoe the other day.

All of this. It is said that keeping your child barefoot until they walk well is best (around 24 months!) It allows the child's foot muscles to develop and helps them master balance quicker. Robeez and products like them are made to mimic being barefoot but allow for some extra protection. They are essentially fancy moccasins.
