Frustration

I went for again for monitoring this morning (CD 16, after 150mg of Clomid) and the doctor confirmed what I had suspected....it's looking unlikely that I'm going to ovulate.  I know objectively that there's a lot more out there to try beyond Clomid, but I'm so frustrated that my body won't freaking ovulate.  Each IUI has such high chance of randomly not working, and it is taking so much effort to not even get to the point of having an IUI.  :(

The slightly good news is if there's still no progress by Friday (likely) she'll let me start Provera without waiting to officially miss my period.  But if I can't even ovulate how am I going to ever get pregnant....

TTC with PCOS since July 2011.
IVF Oct/Nov 2012
Beta #1 = 77, Beta #2 = 190, Beta #3 = 1044
Cautiously optimistic.

  • That is so frustrating and I'm so sorry your ovaries are not cooperating. I totally get what you're going through and I wish that I had some words of comfort. All I can say is hang onto those bits of good news (however small they are), and keep moving forward! I'll be thinking about you for Friday though, hoping that your ovaries get their act together!

  • I know Clomid will help develop your eggs, but is you MD also using an ovulation med, like Ovidrel?  We used both, and maybe you are, but I wasn't sure from your original post ... Just trying to be helpful.  Hope everything works out!

There's no point in doing Ovidrel with follicles that are not more than 11-13mm.  If/when we get to the point of having mature follicles we will use Ovidrel.

  • If it makes you feel any better, C only had one crappy follicle on 150 mg of C.lomid, and overresponded to injectibles (we ended up doing a cyclic progression with g.onal f, as we couldn't afford IVF).

ETA: we triggered with O.vidrel too, but our RE wouldn't trigger w/ C.lomid until over 18 (so they'd be 20ish by the time it took) and over 15 or 16 I think on injects.
