Did you buy a second crib, use a bassinet or a pack n play for #2? I can't imagine that my 19 month old will be ready for a toddler bed (or maybe I wont be ready for her to have that freedom). I never used a bassinet with #1 because she prefered the crib. I thought of a pack-n-play (which I would have to buy) but I am not sure that I can use my Angel Care Monitor with those pads, and I am a freak about SIDS (I am an Peds ICU nurse and know too many stories). What do you recomend?
Re: Where did #2 sleep?
Wherever the first month or so - Survival of the fittest while we established BFing so I pretty much lived on the couch and she slept in the swing or bouncy seat or just on me at times.
Then the PnP next to my side of the bed until she was 11.5 months. That wasn't our plan (we were going to move her out when she was STTN) but we had quite a few things come up and it just didn't happen til she was almost one. It worked out well though. DD1 transitioned to a toddler bed months before so we had her in the crib converted to a toddler bed and just bought her an actual toddler bed and converted the crib back for DD2. They both sleep together fine, some nights they stay up for awhile "playing" but they get along and sleep through the night so it works for us!

DS1 went into a twin bed at 13.5 months. We've never had any issues with him in his bed and he has always loved his bed.
DS2 is about to be moved into a twin bed and sharing a room with his brother. I have no concerns about moving him to a twin bed.
The baby always goes in the crib from night one. We use the angelcare in the crib. I never tried it in the PNP but I would think you'd get a lot of false alarms with it in the PNP. It's not solid enough for the pad
Scroll down the page a bit and you'll find a pretty long thread on this.
