to pick up some used baby stuff on craigslist, like an infant seat just to take it to the trade in at BRU for 25% off??
Or am I a genius?
for example, if I pick up a 20 dollar car seat, get 25% off my infant seat I'll save 48 bucks, so minus the 20 that's still 28 off. and if I hit the jack pot and found someone selling more than just the car seat, I'll have a bulk buy/save but part of me feels funny about it and I don't know why.
Re: is it tacky...
I bought a stroller at the Salvation Army for $2.15. Took it to BRU, saved $48 (or something) off my car seat.
Nope, not tacky.
I sold all of H's stuff (well before expiration date) so I don't personally have anything to trade in.
I guess it felt like I would be taking something from someone who _needed_ it just to get a discount.
I didn't think of it that way, but now that you say that....it could be the case, but doubtful. Also, check the expiration date, if it's expired - you're helping people out
Why? There isn't a limit on how many people that can do it, right? And everyone has the same option to do this. I would do it!
I mean someone with very little money might need the seat where I'm just taking it to get a discount.
I was gonna say, you don't have to buy a $20 car seat. Any item on the list can be turned in for a discount on any other item ont their list.
Do y'all have bulk item going on in your town anywhere right now? There are always car seats and strollers and crap for free on the side of the road here. That's what I did. Trashy crappy car seat off the side of the road = discount for me!
