My girls list consisted of two names until today. Somehow this evolved into 12 within a few short hours.
Please think of these as first names only; I have a second, shorter list of names I consider middle names, though I do see combinations among those below as well.
Re: From too few to too many
I almost voted for Rosalind but Liv really struck me - underused, very pretty.
If you are curious, this is my order:
Liv
Rosalind
Eliza
Annika
Norah
Elise
Morgana (prefer Morgan - though like that better for a boy)
Bronwen (this is kind of ugly to me)
Ginny (not a fan at all)
I hate Siri and don't get Solvei - Neither of these sound nice to me.
Rowan is a boy's name that I would never consider for a girl.
Good luck choosing!!
(I am curious as to how you went from 2 to 12 in a few hours - are you sure you and H really love all of these or did you just look through some baby name stuff and realize you liked these? Which were you both really serious about before?)
Liv, Eliza, and Norah are the only two on your list that I like.
I voted for Norah, but I also like Rosalind.
IMO, Rowan is more a boy name than a girl. Siri makes me think your naming a kid after your iPhone and DS immediately related Siri to Cereal and started chanting it around the room. I'm also a big Avalon, Merlin, King Arthur era buff and so I have never been able to tolerate the name Morgana, as she is Merlin's mortal enemy. I won't even buy DS the popular "The Little Treehouse" series because Morgana is a character in the books...but that's just me.
Thanks for your order, FrecklesInside!
If you don't mind, I'll respond to a few:
This is a Welsh name. I understand it's not for everyone, but I find it feminine and pretty.
Solvei is a Scandinavian name that has various correct spellings depending on the region of Scandinavia (Solveg, Solvay, Solveig).
This is my list, rather than being "our" list and since we're not currently expecting, it's all hypothetical. However, I've put a lot of thought in to girls names because I find boys a lot easier to like. Today I branched out, but in a practical manner, if that makes sense, having thought about what I like about certain names. The two names that were already on the list were Bronwen and Norah.
I checked out your poll in your sig...Interesting that you have Aurelie on your list. It's on my middle name list!
