Pre-School and Daycare

No more pull-ups!!!

My DD who will be 4 in March has been day trained since a few weeks before her 3rd birthday but was not night trained and honestly, could have cared less and we didn't push it at all (no reason too as we knew it would happen when she was ready).  SHe has been doing great the last month or so, waking up dry about 95% of the time but never waking up at night to go.  Saturday morning she woke up and announced that she was done with pull-ups and has done great the last 2 nights.  She has woken up about an hour or 2 after bedtime and then slept the rest of the night and no accidents.  I so hope this sticks and I can be a pull-up/diaper free house once again (my oldest is 5 1/2 so its been a long road!!!)

Re: No more pull-ups!!!

  • Yay!  I'm jealous!  DD does great when she's in a napping phase.  When she doesn't nap during the day, she sleeps to soundly at night to wake up.  With a new baby expected in 8 weeks, we're not pushing it at all.  We'll revisit it again a couple months after Baby is born.

  • We're hoping to drop the pull-ups at night soon too.  DD is such a hard sleeper that I'm afraid she'll be in pull-ups at night forever.

  • That's awesome!  My oldest is most definitely not ready for no pull ups but he's been pulling them off in the middle of the night for over a year so although we try to get him to the bathroom we have a lot of wet sheets around here.  My younger one is actually dry more often then the older but now he's taking the bull headed lead of #1 and refusing pull ups too.  I am so sick of doing pee laundry.

This is my fear, my youngest has been more dry overnight than my middle son... so thinking I will have to keep them both in training pants overnight till the preschooler is ready. He really wants to be dry, but just can't do it yet. I am jealous too! I am just happy to be day time diaper free after 6 years ; )

  • It took my younger DD a long time to get here.  She decided 100% that she was done and has been doing great.  I was not pushing this as I refuse to change wet sheets every night simply because I was ready for her to be done - I left this one totally up to her but have always been very encouraging when she would wake up dry and stuff like that.

  • YAY!!!

    Just don't make my mistake.

I was so excited when we hadn't used one in a while that I gave mine away to a friend who was still using them.  It felt AWESOME!!

Then we had a tummy bug hit our house complete with the runs and I really wished I'd had a few pull ups on hand.

Keep a small stash for emergencies!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • Congrats!!  My two girls are almost the exact same ages as your children and we are finally out of pull-ups at night as well!  Hooray for getting to skip the diaper aisle forever!

I am LOL at this as I have put my older DD in the LO's diapers or pull-ups for the same reason.  I plan to return the pack that I never opened but the half pack (these are the Target Brand huge packs) are staying in my house until they won't fit the girls anymore!  I could care less if I have 20-30 pull-ups taking up space for a few years!!!
