Uhm, I'm assuming your friend/sister/cousin has requested a hockey theme. Does she have a favorite team? And give me a few minutes to find some stuff, I'm a hockey freak.

Generally, you can do things with crossed hockey sticks, pucks, hockey helmets. You can dress up in a black and white striped shirt and be the ref of the shower.
If you're thinking games, you can get some small hockey nets and small wooden sticks and do something that has to do with that.

You could definitely keep with the Redwings theme ... check out their logo .. but for sure some cookies in that shape. I'm sure there's lots you can do. My husband wanted our nursery in hockey but I put the kabosh on that! LOL
My hubs fave team is the Edmonton Oilers and he found on Amazon rubber duckies in the Oilers gear so I'm sure there's RedWings ones. They might be cute for centerpieces.

The red wings would be super easy to work with! You can get basic decorations (streamers, balloons, etc) in red and white, they have some Red Wings napkins and paper dessert plates at Party City.
As a future mom and a hockey fan, I think this is a GREAT idea and that your friend will LOVE it.

I think this is an awesome idea!! Some things you could do are make "jersey cookies" and decorate them white and red then put numbers in the middle (so you don't have to draw the wing). You could use the numbers 12 (for 2012) and the month she is due. Here is a jersey cookie cutter:
Another cookie you could make is cookies (oreos or ritz crackers w/ PB) dipped in chocolate to represent pucks.
The stanley cup could be a good thing to incorporate as Detroit has the second most Stanley cup championships in the league. You could make your own, then use it to put candies or something in (or you may be able too find some to buy IDK).
One last thing you could use is the purple octopus.
I hope these helped!

LOVE this! hubby and i had a hockey themed wedding (ON ICE!) we are red wings fans too...
we had a jersey themed grooms cake, a jersey "guestbook", crossed hockey sticks as a cake topper...we turned a plain hat box into a puck for our card box and had a mini hockey stick net on the gift table. we used red hockey laces on our centerpieces (with fake "ice" inside the vases...really cool stuff!) and laces around the bouquets. i know this isnt a wedding you are planning, but you could put some of these little details into your shower in other ways.
i also wanted to go with hockey puck soap (handmade on etsy.com) for favors, but i didnt want to go TOO over the top with hockey plus it was a bit pricey when you add up all the guests, but i think for a smaller shower, puck soap favors would be so awesome! they look like the real thing. i also know they make custom real hockey pucks online...husband got some as a gift once with their team logo. that would be cute for the mom to be with an ultrasound pic or belly pic on it or the name of the baby if you know. it would be a cute babys room decoration!
we have a handmade hockey stick photo frame that we also got from etsy. thats a cute touch as well for mom to be to keep!
i think if you google something like "hockey theme party" you may get some decent ideas. also, check out pinterest.com for plenty of ideas!
good luck! i for one, would LOVE to see pics of this shower! if you need any other ideas, my email is cuzitwasgood @ yahoo [dot] com

The Princess of Anything is Coming!
Had a dream I was queen.
Woke up. Still queen.
I have no idea how in depth you want to get, but here are some ideas:
Invitations: https://www.etsy.com/listing/71630555/nhl-hockey-toronto-maple-leafs-ticket Those are freaking cool. I would die of happiness if my baby shower invites had Chara or a pic of the TD Garden on them and looked like tickets.
