Air travel with a snap n go??

We'll be traveling by air with our LO for the first time when she's about 3 months old.  I want to take our Chicco Keyfit carseat and our snap n' go (the Chicco Keyfit Caddy)  How do you transport the SNG on the plane?  If you gate check it, is there a travel bag that will protect it?  I'm nervous about it getting damaged/broken since it isn't as solid as a regular stroller.  TIA!

Re: Air travel with a snap n go??

  • I took the baby trend snap and go with me over thankgiving with our keyfit 30 when we flew.  I gate checked the car seat, the base and the snap and go.  US Air does NOT provide a bag and it got a little dirty.  Some airlines do provide a large plastic bag so call ahead and make sure yours does.  It did NOT get damaged, scratched or broken.  Just dirty.

Thanks for sharing!  Glad to hear that your snap and go survived the trip.  By the way, your son is adorable!

  • I just travelled with my chicco keyfit 30 and keyfit caddy.  You check them at the gate.  When you get to the gate, go to the counter and get TWO gate check tags, one for the carseat and one for the stroller.

You leave the carseat and stoller at the end of the walkway right before you board the plane.

Some airlines will provide a plastic bag to put them in but not always.  BRU also sells gate check bags for strollers/carseats for pretty cheap.

I've never put mine in a bag and I've never had any issues with damage.
