Switching to Front Loader

I'm sure this gets asked a lot but I went back a few pages & didn't see anything.

We're thinking of upgrading our current top load washing machine to a front loader before baby #2 arrives. A few ?s:

1. Any brand/model recommendations?

2. Any particular features that you love or suggest looking for? (Just in general or CD related)

3. How much $$ in utility costs did you save by switching? 

4. Any particular tips for washing CDs in a front loader? I've heard sticking a wet towel in the load is helpful or doing a short wash with no spin helps. We have really soft water & RG was the best detergent for us last time.

The recommendation I have is to consider top-loading HE washers.   I love ours (whirlpool cabrio).    Definitely look for one with a soak option.   I have no clue how much we save in utility costs.
