Preemies

New to the board,Intro

Hi my name is Omi, I had my LO when she was 36weeks due to fetal distress on dec. 28,2011, she weighed 4lbs 1oz & 17in long. Shes so tiny and perfect. She now weighs 6lbs. :) I've been lukering on this board for quite a while, and I'm happy to look up to you ladies for advice since I am a FTM.

I do have one question regarding night feedings. She is being fed every 3-4hrs throughout the day sometimes every 4hrs at night depending how hungry she is, but usually I have to wake her up to feed. She will be 1 month old soon, she has been on the right track with her weight gain thanks to a mixture of breast milk & neosure. My question is, should I wake her up to feed or should I let her sleep a bit more?

  • Congratulations! You should call and ask your pedi as every baby is different. Mine told me to not wake her for a 3 am feeding when DD was about 2 months old. Good luck with everything!

  • Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. My LO would wake up every three hours like clock work for the first two months. I would most likely call your pedi and ask them.

  • Congrats on your LO!

We were instructed to wake to feed every three hours for 3 months. I let it slide a bit after 2.5 months but found that my smaller boy would wake up anyway.
