What does the name Charles bring to mind?

Thinking of using Charles Adam (Adam is a family name) and calling him Charlie. Thoughts? Positive or negative connotations? Thanks in advance for the help!

I think of Charles in Charge (the theme song, specifically) whenever I hear Charles

When I hear Charlie, I think of Charlie from Willy Wonka

I think it's a nice name. It's classic and strong and sounds equally nice on an adult or a child.

Charles Adam is a great name! I don't have many associations with Charles, more with Charlie (Charlie Brown, the Disney show Good Luck Charlie).

I think it ages really well!

Pretty much any name you come up with is going to have some sort of association with it... so don't let that be a major deciding factor.

I don't like Charles or Charlie because I have an uncle with that name and lets just say hes not a very nice person.

I have a little Charles Thomas so that's what I think

We call him Charlie and I think it's a perfect little boy name that grows into a "man" name later.

Don't love it, don't hate it. I like NN Charlie, but honestly when I hear Charles I always think Chuck and I don't care for Chuck as a NN for Charles.
