***Update***Progesterone after IUI? Should I ask RE for it?

Here's my situation. I did clomid, HCG trigger, IUI. I week after IUI progesterone was 14 (normal). But at test time Beta ended up being 7 and progesterone was low. RE said if AF doesn't show up come in for another beta. But AF showed so this cycle didn't take. I've read about progesterone. My RE never offered it. But I'm wondering now, even though my level after 1 week was normal if I should ask for it after the next IUI to help my chances. What are your thoughts?

 

***Update*** Thanks for the responses. I went for my u/s and bloodwork today and in addition to my normal prescriptions left with one for crinone which is a progesterone gel (I asked and they said sure). Got a call later in the day that my bloodwork from today showed Beta as 10. Still not positive. No idea why it went up. Am doing google searches on "chemical pregnancies" to learn more. But have to go back on wed for more bloodwork. They don't want me to start clomid until beta goes down to 0.

Curious if you have a LPD?

I would personally ask my doctor about supplemental prog.  I basically have/had a similar situation to you... but was on supplemental prog. at the time.  One week past IVF transfer, my prog was 16.  Nurse said they want it around 30.  I was already doing PIO shots and they increased my dosage to 1.5 (from 1ml).  My beta came back 7.5.  I don't go back for beta 2 until Tues, but so far have gotten only negatives on HPTs...

My RE's office does it by default.  Everyone gets progesterone suppositories regardless of protocol and they keep going until you are told to stop. I would ask; can't imagine it would hurt.
