If they are exchanging cards, you should get a note home with they date and instructions, along with a class list.  If you do not get a note that they are celebrating, then no.

Tyler exchanged valentine's last year.  It is a great opportunity for the kids to workon whatever skills they are working on.  Like last year Tyler wrote out all his friends' names on the cards.  This year if Bri does it, she will be working on signing them with her B and probably color the envelope.
