Which High Chair Did You Choose?

I am having the hardest time choosing a high chair to add to my registry.  I was originally leaning towards the Graco Blossom until I actually viewed it in store.  It looks very cheap to me.  I have since been considering the Chicco Polly and Peg Perego Prima Pappa.  Does anyone have any experience with either of these or have a different one they would recommend?  Thanks!

  • no experience with the two you mentioned.  we went with the FP zen high chair.  don't have any complaints.  it's holding up well, and should be fine when baby 2 is ready to  use it too.

  • Whichever one you choose I'd check out how easily the tray comes on and off.  We started with the FP SpaceSaver, it was good when DD wasn't that stable sitting up.

We have this one now...  Love how the tray can be taken on and off easily with one hand.

  • I have the Chicco Polly.  Love it. But If I the Graco Blossom was out when I had my first, I would have went with that.  My SIL has it and loves it.  It is great because it has a booster seat for when your child is older, and you can still use the regular high chair for your next kiddo at the same time.

  • We have the Graco Blossom and love it!  It is very easy to keep clean.  I have washed the cover many times and it still looks brand new.  I highly recommend it.

  • We had the FP Contempo, and it was easy to clean, but took up too much space. Once DS got old enough, it was too much of a mess to clean up underneath it. We then switched to the FP space saver that was at my IL's. Neither were my favorite to clean to be honest. Now we have the Graco booster and love it bc its easy to clean up. I highly recommend getting whatever chair looks easiest to clean, bc its a pain to clean around the seat area.

  • We received a very lightly used Chicco Polly from a friend and used it for about 4 or 5 months before I couldn't take it anymore.  The chair was a bear to get on and off (must use two hands) so that we usually just left it on and pulled him in and out (pretty tough).  The tray also has this big opening where the top and bottom came together that always collected food.  It does come with two liners you can put on the tray but honestly it just meant we always had three "trays" sitting around our kitchen.  It has 7 (!) recline positions but ours never really sat totally upright.  Once he got to self-feeding, this became really frustrating for him.  I guess the recline might be nice for a young baby that you need to put in the chair but we never did that.  The pad is wipe-clean which was nice but just hope your LO never spills a cup or anything wet onto the seat because the back of the pad is just this netting material covering the fiberfill so you cannot clean it.  The high chair does fold up really flat so I guess that might be the one redeeming quality for me.  However, since we used it every day, we never folded it and the footprint is huge!  All of that to say as much as I hated that chair, I love our new one which is the Oxo Tot Sprout.  It's awesome.  You can pull the seat pad off easily for cleaning, wipe down the seat quickly, the tray is one- handed, the footprint is small, and it blends in with our table.  Very nice!

  • I read tons of negative reviews about the process of cleaning the peg perego prima pappa, so I crossed that one off of my list of options.

  • We used the Chicco Polly for a couple weeks before giving up and buying a FP Healthy Care Deluxe Booster. Love it. Portable, easy to clean, and doesn't take up a lot of space. A lot of people think that it's nice to have a reclining high chair but we never would have used it. He was usually in his swing or bouncer at dinner time and when we started solids, he was in his Boppy or able to sit up well enough to go in the booster.

  • we love our Graco Blossom 4-in-1...I don't find it cheap looking/made at all.  It is versatile (use for 2 children down the road) easy to clean, comfy for DS/baby....it works for us.

  • I hate hate hate hate the Graco chair.  It was impossible for me to keep clean, but Bean has been feeding himself since he was about 8 months old, and that gets a lot messier than a parent spoonfeeding.

We have a spacesaver that straps to a chair, and love it.  It's so very easy to clean.

  • We registered for the Graco DuoDiner.

It was highly rated in the Baby Bargains book, and will look nice in our dining room too.

  • We're going with the FP space saver chair. It reclines, and the tray comes of easily with one hand.

  • Save some money and go with the IKEA Antilop High Chair. We absolutely LOVE how easy it is to clean. Originally we had the Astro High chair by Valco Baby.. I loved the look but it was a pain to clean. Wish I would have went with the Antilop to begin with!
